ALLAHABAD HC SEEKS GOVERNMENT RESPONSE ON THE ORDER WHICH RESTRICTS TREATMENT OF NON-COVID PATIENTS


Allahabad High Court bench of Justice Pankaj Mittal and Justice Yashwant Varma has sought response from the U.P. government on the order passed by them through notification dated 23rd March 2020 and 31st May 2020 by which it restricted government hospitals, private hospitals as well as the nursing home of the state of Uttar Pradesh from opening the OPD (Outpatient Department) for treating non COVID-19 patients except in cases of emergency.

This issue was raised through the petition filed through the spoke person, Shri S.R. Darapuri of All India Peoples Front (Radical).

The bench has directed Additional Advocate General Manish Goyal who is appearing in the court as state representative to give information regarding the current state of affairs and the provide viability of imposing such restriction. The bench further instructed the state government and C.M.O to reconsider the guidelines mentioned in the two notifications.

The court shall hear this matter now on 18th June 2020.
