The Telengana High Court gave directions to the State Government to boost testings for the Corona Virus. The Telengana State Government was facing criticism from its people before the High Court order about the lack of testing for the Novel Corona Virus. The State Government finally decided on Sunday (14.06.2020) to increase the testings for Covid-19 in Hydrabad and the districts near it in the next ten days or so.
The Chief Minister of Telengana; K. Chandrashekhar Rao had a meeting with some senior officials and decided on a plan of action to tackle the problem at hand. He directed the Medical and Health Department to conduct tests for the Corona Virus on 50,000 people in Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Medchel and Sangareddy districts. The testings will be carried out in the 7-10 days.
After a lot of backlash and order from the High Court itself the Telengana State Government allowed private hospitals and laboratories which are approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to conduct tests for Corona Virus. The High Court of Telengana had directed the State Government to allow private labs in the state of Telengana to conduct tests for the Corona Virus and offer treatments. The fees paid to them and the treatment prescribed by them would strictly follow the central guidelines for Corona Virus testings.
Telengana’s Corona Virus cases which are 4,974 prompted the Government to take swift action. The official released from the Chief minister’s office said that the Chief Minister had directed the state to take strict measures to stop and contain the spread of the Corona Virus in Hyderabad and its surrounding areas.
In the end, Chief Minister of Telengana; K.
